Founded in 2010, Lake Tahoe Pride offers a safe, welcoming space for the diverse spectrum of LGBTQIA2S+ people and their allies as well as a foundation on which to increase visibility, promote awareness, and nurture acceptance in the Lake Tahoe region for locals and visitors alike.
Members and allies care strongly about equal rights and so work to promote tolerance, encourage education, offer support, and increase positive engagement through social and charitable events and collaboration with the larger community.
Pride members bring their varied experiences, interests, and talents into active and visible collaboration with this beautiful place where we live, work, and relax. Our first charitable goal, the Lake Tahoe Pride Equality Scholarship, was founded in 2014 to support Lake Tahoe Community College students who believe in equality for all people in our diverse and valuable community.
Our group’s founders Gregory Cremeans who, along with longtime members like Tommy Tee, Chris Sidell, Michael Freeman, and so many others, have nurtured our community throughout the years.
The support and allyship of the City of Lake Tahoe, the LTCC Community College, our local partners Keep Tahoe Blue, TAMBA, TRTA and all our local ally businesses is another more visible way for Lake Tahoe Pride to show our community that progress is here at 6,225 feet, that it makes our community more powerful, more resilient, and more beautiful for everyone who visits and for everyone who calls this place home.
